Department of Dermatology
The department of Dermatology has been operational in KEM hospital since 1968. Initially, it began as a small unit catering to dermatology, leprosy and venereology patients with very few instruments. In the past 30 years there has been a steady progress in the number of patients. Since 1981, the team started expanding and now we have 6 consultants, 2 senior residents and 4 post graduate students.
The department conducts CME programmes for dermatologists as well as for general practitioners to increase the awareness about recent advancements in the field of dermatology. We have been a pioneer in vitiligo surgeries and platelet rich plasma therapy for scars, baldness and non-healing ulcer treatment.
We see patients of all ages and skin types for general, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. We treat skin conditions such as skin tags, warts, acne, psoriasis, eczema, vitiligo and more.
Special Clinics and Camps
We conduct free camps for dermatosurgery and routine check-ups.
