The Psychiatry Unit at KEM Hospital provides access to high quality, affordable and equitable mental health services for adults, the elderly, children and families, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. We have a team of eminent psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, and researchers who are collaboratively involved in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of mental health problems.
If you or your loved one is suffering from a mental or behavioral illness, help and hope are available through the psychiatry unit. We provide psychological assessments and therapies of mental health problems varying from the more common stress and lifestyle related problems to conditions such as schizophrenia and Severe Mental Illnesses (SMI). Our goal is to help patients survive adversities and accompany them on the journey of realizing their own potential, thus contributing to the development of self and others.
We have been an academic and teaching unit for over 35 years and are approved for the Diploma in Psychological Medicine (DPM) course of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Bombay. Additionally, we have been at the forefront of various research projects, aiming to translate contemporary research into practice.
