Child Development Centre (TDH)

About the Centre

The Paediatric Department inaugurated the path-breaking TDH Rehabilitation and Morris Child Development Centre with the aid of a German social service organisation – the Terre Des Hommes, in 1979. This was the first such centre in India for the comprehensive diagnosis and therapy of children with all manner of physical and mental challenges.

We are devoted to providing diagnostic and therapeutic services for all kinds of developmental and behavioural disorders under one roof, with an interdisciplinary team approach. Various facilities at the centre include: IQ and behavioural testing, hearing assessment, speech therapy, occupational therapy, sensory integration and physiotherapy. The focus of all work done at the centre is enabling each child to achieve his/her potential. Early detection and intervention are important steps in this direction.

BIG EARS is the only centre in Maharashtra which offers all the services needed for the hearing impaired; from a variety of tests that detect hearing loss to hearing aids, speech therapy, counselling and cochlear implants for the totally deaf.
