Gastroenterology
The Gastroenterology Unit has evolved into a full-fledged endoscopy department with facilities for endoscopic diagnoses and advanced therapeutic interventions with state-of-the-art technology. Amazingly, at times new technology enables therapies without anaesthesia as dependable and cheaper alternatives to surgery. In this era of minimal access interventions, GI endoscopy has a big role in healthcare.
We have two endoscopy suites that run simultaneously. Advanced anaesthesia equipment makes it possible to induce conscious sedation. An independent dedicated C Arm allows procedures that need X-ray imaging, including ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio Pancreatography) and other interventions.
The patient recovery room has 4 ICU beds with the requisite equipment.
