Blood Bank

We have the power to transform another life by donating blood - The Gift Of Life. A simple blood donation can save life and restore strength of a patient in need.

The Blood Bank at KEM Hospital, Pune has been serving the society since 1973 and from its inception has only taken voluntary donors. We were the first such blood bank in Pune. We were also the first in Pune to start component separation (1987) and HIV testing (1989). We have inculcated international standards for blood transfusion safety and have state-of-the-art technology and systems to ensure that we deliver the highest quality standards in blood transfusion.

We provide a wide range of services, including: voluntary donations, 100% blood component separation, testing the blood for safety, and organizing camps. Our work is not limited to KEMH; we also supply blood components to more than 30 hospitals within Pune city. Additionally, our satellite Blood Storage Unit at Shirdi Sai Baba Hospital at Vadu, is committed to providing service to patients in the rural area.
